In the wake of such ordinary violence, Sunni Moslems have threatened to boycott the January elections. Sunnis, apparently, cannot understand that their threatened boycott gives a sort of Freudian insight to the fact that these Saladin wannabes have a deep-seated desire to be just like Americans.
Every presidential election in the United States means that half the eligible voting population will “boycott” the election. The word “boycott” is simply shorthand for “I have better things to do.”
For Americans, Election Day always seems to intersect with Porn Day consequently triggering a boycott. It's not every day that Americans can login and dedicate 12 hours to the “Drive for Five” marathon jerkoff session. Sunnis, similarly, have no intention of voting anyway. Obviously, there's no infrastructure to accommodate modern pornography addiction but perhaps they will be doing something else like seeing if they can fill holes in the ground with shit or something equally obsessive.
Whatever the Sunnis collectively choose to do, I'm sure it will be more fun than voting. If they choose to call it a “boycott” then… good for them.
