When asked if the worldwide antiwar protests last weekend would change his mind on Iraq, the President shared the depth of his wisdom:
“Size of the protest? It’s like deciding, ‘Well, I’m going to decide policy based up on a focus group,’” Bush said. “The role of a leader is to decide policy based upon the security — in this case — security of the people.”
Our esteemed President was ‘elected’ by a focus group (see Supreme Court). A focus group made our president the President. Bush, of all people, should think highly of focus groups.
White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer stayed true to form by not making the situation any easier for the Bush Administration. Fleischer compared the protests to past anti-war demonstrations against executive decisions that turned out to be the “right” decisions. His example was President Reagan’s decision to deploy intermediate-range nuclear missiles in Europe, a move he said helped lead to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
By effectively holding millions of Germans hostage in a high stakes game of mutually assured nuclear destruction that many wanted no part of.
Nothing like giving the Europeans more reasons to write Bush off as a trigger happy cowpoke hell bent for leather on starting World War III.
All things considered, Bush showed some class by not really laying into the protesters. Cyberista has been consistently against the behavior of the shallow patchwork idiots like the folks at A.N.S.W.E.R et al. that can’t get their cause straight (no war in Iraq).
Ad hominem attacks can be useful when used sparingly and when you have the absolute upper hand in a debate. To date, antiwar protesters cannot seem to communicate anything beyond their dislike for Bush. Take a look around our site, we have dozens of examples.

Both Bush and the protesters are monotonous, broken records with no moral or intellectual high ground to stand on. For a guy that has to endure seemingly endless permutations of “Fuck you, George Bush” every weekend, he certainly could have been far more insensitive than his recent comments portrayed him.
