The most aggravating nature lovers are the ones that admire seagulls and squirrels. Both animals live fruitful lives because of garbage and general filth. One is a rat with wings, the other is a rat with a furry tail. If sharks were slightly more in tune with a priori cuteness, people would like sharks also.

With two deaths in three days and 37 of this year’s 48 reported shark attacks occurring in the US, one cannot help but to speculate about a new item on the average shark menu–humans. Statistically, the beaches are safer than dogs, snakes and lighting but the US has an interesting political fringe group that could conceivably be behind an orchestrated effort to make people fear water–environmental terrorists.

Environmental terrorism is no ordinary game. There could be people along the 1800 miles of Florida coastline or the 4000 mile range of shark attacks that have a clear intent to acclimate sharks to eating people.

Such a group would not have to go far for blood. Robbing a blood bank is unnecessary when there are devout followers ready to donate their own blood to the cause. Anyone who has visited their local grocery store knows that turkey breast strips are extremely cheap and difficult to keep in stock because of their popularity among body builders and other fitness freaks.

Turkey, of course, comes from an economic perspective. These terrorists are hardly down economically because poor people don’t fight for plants and animals. More likely, they will buy whatever they think will do the job. Going to Sam’s Club in a college town to buy a hundred pounds of meat and poultry is not an unusual sight. Kids loading giant coolers onto boats is also not an unusual sight.

Statistically, there are 8 fatalities worldwide from shark attacks. If this number goes up significantly to the point where fiction like Jaws becomes fact, then maybe law enforcement should light a candle in the dark to see what they find.
